The drumbeat at the beginning of ‘Baby Blue’ from the Saint Louis native drummer rolled me right in to a great sounding musical composition. I was thinking the music in the background put me in the mind of Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was classic and tuneful. The Lead Singer for the band at the time was polished and clean as I watched ‘The Relics’ perform in their ‘Baby Blue’ Video. There was great stage presence and I loved the persistence as he kept taking his voice higher as the song played out. The sound of the music and even organ-like musical serenade made me think of sounds similar to Tom Petty. I loved the song performed. ‘Baby Blue’ is a greatly written tune with lines such as: ‘I was a blindfold for making you cry.’ I enjoyed how the Lead Singer was able to take his voice higher during song changes and transitions. I would love to hear more and I saw originality. I saw the musicians in their musical zone of rehearsed excellence. They had a great, laid back stage presence. I saw real musicians who enjoyed performing. That is a great trait to possess. That is what made me ‘rock on.’ There was also a diverse mix; from Saint Louis to New York to Georgia, these musicians came from various places and they blended very well. I also had an inner ‘hooray moment’ when I learned that the band placed first at the Madlife Battle of Bands which is a phenomenal forum for artists to showcase their musical skills of profound creativity. It’s a great venue to research. ‘The Relics’ have much potential.

So I listened to White Denim's tuneful tune 'Ha Ha Ha Ha' and I was astonished. I thought I was listening to a modern day James Brown with a mix of a spontaneous Elvis Presley, revived. As a Singer who loves Gospel and love tunes, I heard so much adventure in this song. I watched the video and it was like watching one of those classic 90s movies on USA. I enjoyed the steps and I was immediately in tune with the hit. It was fun and it was a song that took me out of a safe zone as far as music goes. The song was filled with extraordinary risks. The drum beats were awesome. And I was willing to learn more about the rock band from Austin. I had a great time listening to the band and i'd love to hear more. Word is that they were shocked with band member replacements. I guess replacing members in the old group Destiny's Child didn't stop Beyonce Knowles from growing in her career. Let's see what's next with White Denim. My Lord, they had me rocking. It's great to hear a good classic - style rock tune.
I posted an ad in Los Angeles in regards to discovering new music and I thankfully received a submission from Innocente A.K.A. Innocent Mind. He had an interesting flair. I went to play his song 'La Noche' on You Tube and I witnessed all kinds of Latin Soul and Flavor. I was immediately inspired by the jazzy, hip international beat. But it was kind of similar to music from the Harlem Renaissance. He had a great video and seems to know music and is eccentric with his own style. He reminded me of an extremely polished Musician who loves his craft. I am learning Spanish, so I will have to check back when I become more fluent so that I can really enjoy the Spanish Song 'La Noche.' It feels good to hear some international music mixed in with sounds that remind us of rhythmic beats of America. I suggest listening to his sounds on You Tube. Innocente's BIO follows:
“Wilson” aka “Innocent Mind” is a Soul, Latin Hip-Hop artist from Aliso Village Projects in Los Angeles, California. Being a fan of music, growing up always listening to music, naturally grew into a solid taste for underground music. Innocent Mind began his artistic journey as a drummer in live bands. (Place Innocent Mind on the drums and his musicianship becomes instantly apparent).
After his band broke up in “1998”, each member went their own creative way, allowing Innocent Mind to reinvent himself into the passionate, hard-driven MC we have today.
With his continued love and passion of hip hop music Innocent Mind started composing his own original songs in English and Spanish. Motivated by his love of underground music is what fuels him to keep delivering his listeners with continuous musical creativity from the hearth.
His music and passionate penmanship is storytelling, using his own true life experiences growing up in the inner city to educate, up-lift, and challenge the way youths and young adults look at the world to create positive change in the world.
In “2009”, Innocent Mind traveled to his parents’ homelands, mothers El Salvador, fathers Michoacán Mexico, where his music and lyrics evolved further, leading him to work on various solo projects to date.
Innocent Mind keeps his great spirit alive and is well known within the hip hop community for delivering solid music while putting in work to grow and evolve further in his musical path.
Innocent Mind says it best “…I’m here doing what I love to-do, making originality to inspire you is what Innocent mind has always been about”.
Keep listening and you’ll soon realize why they call him “Innocente” or “Innocent Mind”

Arsen Petorsyan reached out to me in regards to music production and exposure. I had the chance to listen to his music and I fell in love with every note. It was so heavenly.
